“Open Sky” Screening at the cocktail reception in Miami Beach, to celebrate inaugural YES Grant for Arts Writers, awarded and published in collaboration with The Miami Rail.

“Open Sky” is a collaboration between the Salarrué National Exhibition Hall and Y.ES Contemporary.  “Open Sky” is a traveling extension of a 2016 multimedia exhibition by the same name, which featured the work of 23 contemporary Salvadoran women artists at the Salarrué National Exhibition Hall in San Salvador.

The exhibition screened eight videos from six Salvadoran artists Beatriz Cortez, Alexia Miranda, Nadie, Amber Rose, V J Thai and Veronica Vides.

 

A Cielo Abierto, proyección en el coctel de recepción en Miami Beach, con el objetivo de celebrar la inauguración de las Subvenciones Y.ES para Teoréticos del Arte, otorgadas y publicadas en colaboración con The Miami Rail.

A Cielo Abierto es una colaboración de la Sala Nacional de Exposiciones Salarrué y Y.ES Contemporary.  “Open Sky” es una extensión itinerante de la exhibición multimedia del mismo nombre llevada a cabo en 2016, la cual presentó el trabajo de 23 mujeres artistas contemporáneas salvadoreñas en la Sala de Exposiciones Salarrué en San Salvador.

La exhibición presentó ocho videos de las artistas salvadoreñas Beatriz Cortez, Alexia Miranda, Nadie, Amber Rose, V J Thai and Verónica Vides.

“Mantra II” is  a geometrical reticula that transforms space into a palpitating living organism.  VJ Thai chooses a purposefully austere pattern and color scheme to depict  ancient rituals, Mayan symbols, among others, within a single unified image - conflating its origins and appearing timeless in nature.

"Mantra II" es una retícula geométrica que transforma el espacio en un organismo vivo y palpitante.  VJ elige un patrón y paleta de color austeros para representar rituales antiguos, símbolos maya, entre otros, dentro de una única imagen - fusionando sus orígenes y pareciendo atemporal en naturaleza.

De Aqui Para Alla (From Here to There) is an exhibition of three video works by Salvadoran artists Crack Rodriguez, Verónica Vides and Victor Hugo curated by YES team Claire Breukel and Lucas Arevalo for_Video_Sur_a Latin America-focused program hosted by Arte_Sur. De Aqui Para Alla explores the use of mundane, sometimes absurd, actions to express sociopolitical angst, and screens at the North abutment of the bridge Alexandre III in Paris, France.
